Ring Meeting 7:00PM
Cafeteria Conference Room

Our April meeting came together with a little buzz in the air left over from our 60th anniversary event held March 21st which will be reported in a separate ring event notice but let me say that we were delighted to have Joan Caesar at our event and personally I was thrilled to meet her.

We started with an official corporate meeting where we elected officers for next year which are the same officers as this year.  Everyone was pleased with the efforts of president Chris Sablich and VP Craig Kunkle and they agreed to serve another year.  After the business  portion was done we discussed next months meeting in which we will have installation of the officers. We also discussed some possible fund raising events.

Then we had some performances which include:
Jon Harris did a nice little card trick where the selected card is found face up in the deck and then  he did another trick where spectator cuts deck and takes top card and another spectator  takes the next card. Jon then reads their minds to divine their cards.  Doug Welch brought out a pair of match boxes but the sliding drawers moved as though they  were connected even when he put them in different positions then he totally separates them and takes them apart-clean. He also did a nice job with Jerry Andrus' linking pins which is very  deceptive.  Rich Krushansky showed some torn up pieces of newspaper, read off some funny lines and then  restored them instantly into a full newspaper(No Tear). James Fish (new junior member) had a card selected from the deck and shuffled back in, then he took out 4 cards and the spectator eliminated cards and the only one left was the selected card. This was followed by Brian Loeffler shuffling selected card back into deck, spread deck  across table and then waved his hand over the spread and picked up the selected card - nice job by some younger members.  Dick Gusefski started some music and then did some red white and blue effects with ropes and silks ending with a production of the flag.  Tim Moore kept the music going while he did a nice coin matrix effect by Dean Dill and Phill Messina brought out an old version of what I know as  B'wave but no one could remember the name of it.  Robert Bullock (hopefully a new member of  IBM and Ring 79) did a very deceptive effect with 2 spectators getting decks and putting them behind their backs and when brought out they had both selected the same card.  Tim Gusefski put the music back on and did some funny finger fantasy tricks and Chris Sablich  finished up with an effect by Justin Miller called Serendipity.

Everyone had a great time and we look forward to another meeting next month.
